How Do You Make Sure Buyers See Your Home and not the SNOW?
So you have your home listed for sale this winter… and you want to make sure that potential buyers notice your lovely home and not all the snow piled on the ground!
There are many pros to selling your home in the winter. Some studies show that homes sell faster and closer to their list price in the winter than another other season! In the Northern Virginia/DC Metro our spring market tends to show up way earlier than most people would think. January is usually pretty hot of a market and we are telling all clients to list their home now as there is less inventory and buyers are out and ready to buy!
So how do you make sure your home shows well in the winter?
Shovel Well!
If you cannot keep up with the shoveling, hire the neighbor teenagers or a shoveling service. Make sure you treat for ice as well! If potential buyers cannot even get to your front door easily, they may skip the showing all together!
Clean Gutters!
Make sure your gutters are not sagging with leaves and snow and ice built up! Keep the gutters clean and make sure there are no needed outdoor repairs. This shows buyers that you take care of your property and that there should not be any surprise repairs when all the snow melts!
Warm it Up!
Keep your temperature nice and warm for showings so potential buyers feel comfortable as they look around your home.
Decorate!
Tastefully decorate for the season and holidays so when a buyer walks in they can imagine their family spending the holidays in your home!
Service Heating!
Buyers are more conscious about heating and utilities in the winter. Have your HVAC and heating appliances serviced so buyers can feel confident that everything is up and running well.
